User Guide

Everything you need to know to get the most out of Podo Todo.

1. Getting Started

Visit podotodo.com in any modern browser. Podo Todo works immediately without requiring an account — your data is saved locally on your device.

To enable real-time sync across devices, sign in with your Google account.

Tip: Add Podo Todo to your home screen on mobile for an app-like experience. Podo Todo is a PWA that works offline.

2. Adding an Event

Everything in Podo Todo is an event: a task, a meeting, a habit. There are three ways to create one, and each fills in sensible defaults.

The popup lets you set a title, a category, a start date and time, a duration (30 minutes to 8 hours), a deadline, a repeat rule and a reminder. Everything except the title is optional, and all of it can be changed later.

Tip: A new event opens with a random emoji already typed into the title. Keep it, swap it, or delete it — it is just text.

3. Categories

Every event belongs to a category, and each category carries its own colour. That colour is what you see as the bar on the left of a list row, the dot in the calendar and the fill of a schedule block.

  1. Click + Category at the end of the filter row.
  2. Name it and pick a colour from the palette.
  3. Use the tabs above the list to show one category at a time, or ★ to show only starred events.

Deleting a category moves its events to the first remaining one — nothing is lost.

4. Repeating Events

Set an event to repeat daily, weekly, every other week, monthly or yearly. Weekly and every-other-week let you tick several weekdays at once, and the popup previews the next three dates so you can see exactly what the rule does.

The deadline doubles as the repeat end date. Leave it empty and the event repeats indefinitely.

Changing one occurrence

When you edit, delete, drag or resize a repeating event, Podo Todo asks how far the change should reach:

Cancel leaves everything exactly as it was. However many times you adjust a repeating event, it still counts as one against the free limit.

5. Calendar & Schedule

The calendar shows the whole month with one line per event. Click a day and the schedule beside it jumps to that date.

The schedule is a timeline in 30-minute steps. Events that overlap are split into side-by-side columns instead of covering each other, and events without a time sit in a row above the first hour.

Moving & Resizing

Drag an event to another hour to change its time, or drag its bottom edge to change its duration. Drag an event onto a calendar day to move it to that date. Repeating events can only change time this way — their dates come from the repeat rule, so use the popup instead.

Completing Events

Click the circle on a list row, or double-click a schedule block. For a repeating event, completion is recorded per day — ticking today does not affect any other occurrence.

6. Overdue & Completed

Anything unfinished whose date has passed collects in an Overdue section at the bottom of the list rather than disappearing. Completed events move to a Completed section below that, collapsed by default.

Drag a row between sections to change its state: drop it in Completed to tick it off, or drag it out of Overdue to reschedule it to today.

7. Themes & Settings

Open the ☰ menu for your account, the graph, themes and settings. 3 themes: Cream (default), White, Dark. Settings include language (9), date format, schedule start hour, week start day, and yearly goals.

8. Sync & Backup

Sign in with Google for real-time sync across devices. Back up schedules to Google Calendar. Works offline with PWA technology.
